March 28-31, 2019 was the Florida State Competition for Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda (ΦβΛ). The theme this year was “Leave your Mark”, and that is precisely what Webber International ΦβΛ fraternity successfully achieved. Twenty-one students from Webber traveled to Orlando to compete in over 50 events with 20 other schools from Florida. Seven of the 21 students qualified for the national competition in June to be held in San Antonio, Texas. Henry Vu earned 3rd place in the Project Management exam as well as 4th place in the Future Business Executive event. Alejandro (Alex) Dib Parada credits his professor, Dr. Nikos Orphanoudakis, for preparing him for the Organizational Behavior and Leadership exam for which Alex earned 3rd place. Alex and Juan Pablo Zambrano also placed 4th in the Economic Analysis and Decision Making event. Brandon Zayhowski and Anthony Branca earned 2nd place in the Human Resource Management exam and case study event. Joyce Caba and Esmeralda Fernandez earned 2nd place in the Social Media Challenge event. Finally, Andrea Nicolle Miranda Ortiz rounded out the competition by earning 2nd place in the Business Presentation event. Webber is proud of the hard work these students invested and we’re excited to see how they perform at the National Leadership Conference this summer!
