Ms. Kathleen Hardesty Professor - English Ms. Kathleen Hardesty Instructor – English Ms. Hardesty teaches English for corporate communications, including courses in professional writing, technical writing, media writing, publication design and editing, and English composition. She enjoys working with students to develop and hone their writing skills in preparation for their future business endeavors. Before joining the Webber International University faculty in August 2015, Ms. Hardesty worked for more than 15 years as a professional and technical writer and editor. Most recently, she was a senior marketing communications lead for Atkins, a global engineering and design firm. Before joining Atkins, Ms. Hardesty held positions with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s International Division and the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance. Ms. Hardesty specializes in all areas of business communication, including marketing communication, professional/technical writing and editing, public relations, internal and external corporate communication, and online communication. She holds dual bachelor of arts degrees in both English and international affairs from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and a master of arts degree in international affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She also earned a master of arts degree in English, rhetoric and composition, from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Hardesty currently serves as communications chair for the American Water Works Association Florida Section, Region X. She is also a volunteer board member for a nonprofit, humanitarian organization serving people in need in Montrouis, Haiti.
