Dr. Hatem Bata Dr. Hatem Bata, Assistant Professor, joined the Webber International University faculty in August 2015. He received his undergraduate degree from the West Virginia University (WVU) with a double major in computer science and mass communication, his master’s in integrated marketing communication from the American University in Cairo (AUC), and a doctorate from the University of Toledo (UT) in technology management. His area of expertise is marketing technologies such as social media, mobile social media, mobile marketing applications, and mobile commerce. Dr Bata has also experience in public relations, government and the military. Before academia, Dr. Bata served as a public relations official for the Egyptian Cabinet. Prior to that, He served in the Egyptian military as part of the military media bureau. Dr. Bata is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), National Sales Management Association (NSMA) and the Academy of International Business South East (AIBSE). In addition to a full teaching load, Dr. Bata is also a reviewer for the Decision Sciences Institute conference, the Americas Conference on Information Systems, and Academy of International Business South East USA Chapter conference. Dr Bata has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level in America and Egypt. His teaching experience spans across many areas of business. Dr. Bata’s goal is to make students competitive in the twenty first century global cooperate environment by helping students to develop a capacity for self-direction, self-monitoring, and self-generation of ideas to become the future innovators.
