Joint Curricular Agreement with Nichols College
Webber International University has entered into a joint curricular agreement with Nichols College (“Nichols”) to provide certain Webber courses using Nichols based infrastructure and Nichols instructors. These courses are designated “Nichols Provided Course” in the catalog and are indicated on schedules and transcripts as section “N”.
Nichols provided courses are offered only through Nichols’ on-line course management system and are not offered at the Webber International University campus. Students contemplating a major which requires Nichols provided courses to complete should consider the additional time constraints and required personal discipline inherent in any distance education program.
From the student perspective, the sole difference in a Nichols provided course is distance. These courses meet Webber’s quality standards and our learning objectives, and Faculty teaching them are fully academically qualified under both SACS and IACBE standards. Because these are Webber classes, students register for them, pay for them, and receive a grade for them just as they do any other Webber course. As with any other course, should students encounter academic difficulty, they should first attempt to resolve it with the instructor, then, if necessary, with Webber’s Chief Academic Officer.
Although there does exist a contract governing the delivery of these courses, the contractual relationship exists between Webber International University and Nichols College. Consequently, Webber students enrolling in Nichols provided courses neither become Nichols students nor enter personally into a contractual relationship with Nichols.
Located in Dudley, Massachusetts, Nichols College was established in 1815 and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). While Nichols and Webber engage in a number of cooperative activities arising from a spirit of collegiality, they are not affiliated or related in any way.
