International Student -- Jeff Alcala
While a senior in high school, I was determined to study in the great sunshine state of Florida. While applying to other colleges, I was awestruck by how Webber appealed to me. Fortunately, I had a smooth transition from high school to the college life. As an international student, I worked hand-in-hand with a great college counselor, Amanda. She guided me through the process and made me more excited to begin my college experience. Being a business school aided my decision to attend Webber; these were two of the influencing factors. Now, after three years, I am a junior. Looking back to my first days here, I was captivated by my new surroundings, new people, and a change in lifestyle. I went with the flow of things and worked my way through the Webber wheel. I became involved with student activities and organizations around Webber. I am actively involved with the Hosteurs Club as a Vice-President and am part of the Student Leadership Association. Studying at Webber I have come to love the way professors know us students by first names and actually give us their time; they listen if we need to talk to them and give us much help in classes. Being part of Webber, an international school, I have made great friends from around the world and have also met people from all around the U.S. My experience has given me the opportunity to be open minded and learn about cultures and new ideas not only here in the U.S., but overseas as well. I have grown since the first day here at Webber and have had unforgettable memories that I will always cherish. After Webber, I plan to work in a prestigious hotel and use the knowledge and experiences I have acquired from my alma mater, Webber International University.
