WIU Alumni & Friend’s Golf Tournament This Friday
The Annual Webber International University Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament is this Friday, March 26, at River Greens Golf Course in Avon Park.
It is not too late to schedule to enter! The shot-gun start is scheduled for 1p.m. Entry fee is $60 per person, if you enter and pre-pay prior to Friday. You may still register at the tournament desk on Friday, but entry will be $70 the day of the tournament. The entry fee covers greens fee, cart, and a hot buffet dinner at the River Greens Club House.
The format for the tournament is a four-person scramble. For more information or to enter, call 863-638-2918. You may register by contacting the WIU Alumni Office at alumni@webber.edu.
All golf enthusiasts are invited to play in this event.
Webber Alumni Weekend This Week
Webber International University Alumni Weekend 2010 begins on Friday, March 26, with the Annual Alumni & Friend’s Golf Tournament at River Greens Golf Course in Avon Park.
Following the tournament, the WIU Volleyball Alumni will be playing their annual contest at 7p.m. in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
Also, at 7p.m. the Warriors baseball team will be entertaining Embry-Riddle University in an important game in The Sun Conference, at the Heart of Florida Field. At 8:30p.m. the Webber Alums will be gathering on campus for a big Welcome Back Bonfire on the shore of Crooked Lake.
Saturday, March 27, the WIU Alumni Breakfast will be held in the Rex R. Yentes Center at 9a.m. All day on Saturday, will be various Alumni Athletic games and events, beginning at 10a.m.
Events include women’s basketball, co-ed flag football, softball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball and baseball. In addition to all of the Alumni events, Warriors baseball team will be hosting Embry-Riddle in a double header, starting at 12p.m.
Sunday, March 27th, will be a leisurely day for the Webber Alums to enjoy the campus. Activities will include campus tours, lawn croquet, horseshoes, beach volleyball and Webber beach time.

WIU Spring Alumni Weekend
March 26-28, 2010
Spring 2010 Alumni Weekend will soon be underway beginning on Friday, March 26th and will run through Sunday, March 28th. Webber will host a variety of events that will appeal to various alumni; including golfing, bonfires, alumni sporting events, tailgating, or being a spectator at current athletic events.
On Friday, Alumni Weekend will kick off at 1:00pm with an alumni & friends golf outing at River Green’s Golf Course. That evening there will be a Welcome Back Bonfire Event by Crooked Lake which will be the highlight of the day. Webber’s lakefront view will be hopping and rocking from 8:30p.m. until 10:30p.m. (or later) with exciting entertainment!
Saturday, March 27th will begin with a breakfast at 9:00am in the Rex R. Yentes Conference Center followed by many alumni sporting events. Sunday will be an open day to enjoy leisure time with fellow classmates and friends on Webber’s beautiful campus.
This spring, 2010 Alumni Weekend will be a great opportunity to socialize and visit with old friends and classmates from the past. Come travel down memory lane and get a glimpse of Webber’s bright future!
